In general, I don't like being surprised. Most people's idea of a surprise is saying something like, "I know something, you don't know!" and it turns out that after a lot of arguing the fact that if they're not prepared to tell me, "I don't want to know!" it's either not exciting or devastating and they didn't know how else to brooch* the subject.
However, a genuine nice surprise is not very common. And I like rare things.
Diamonds, great-big, whoppping pearls (and not the formed ones either), flowers from your sister when you tell her you're pregnant and scared, or your best friend coming to celebrate the fact that you got away and you're doing better than expected.
My sister has just asked me for my blog's name...we read each other's articles but I don't think I know what her blog is called either, I just know she writes what she knows and she writes well.
I asked her why she wanted it's name and she simply said..."you'll see". Watch this space people, nice surprise around the corner by the sounds of it.
* could someone please tell me if that was the right brooch for that sentence?
